A new name for our Trust
Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C) and Cambridgeshire Community Services (CCS) will formally join together to create a new organisation in April 2026.
Since April 2025, NCH&C and CCS have been working together under a single board and with some shared roles, in an arrangement known as an NHS Group.
As we are creating a new Trust, we need a new name.
This is an opportunity to develop a new name that reflects the breadth of our work and the geography we cover.
Rules for naming NHS Trusts
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has a formula for naming NHS Trusts.
A new NHS name must include:
a geographic reference
a descriptor (such as community, hospital, or mental health)
NHS Trust or NHS Foundation Trust
Based on this, we’ve proposed the following name:
East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust
Our staff have helped shape this name and agree that it reflects our locations and services. Now we’d like to hear from the people we serve.
Please tell us:
Is the new name clear?
Do you understand who we are?
Does the name reflect the work you know we do?
Is there anything else we should consider?
